As the day started out very disappointing with lots of rain in the forecast, our firefighters, wives, girlfriends and friends arrived early to start yet some more preparations for the day’s festivities. Guests from several Berks & surrounding counties started to arrive. As the start time was nearing, the rain began to come down harder and harder. However as the parade was about to begin, a miracle occurred and the rain just stopped. Several pieces of apparatus along with some marching groups were on hand to celebrate all the way through the parade route. Once the parade was over, several companies remained on hand to see us celebrate the housing of the new Rescue Truck, dedicate our new fire house, and honor our 100 years of service to Temple / Muhlenberg and all other surrounding areas.

Larry LaFaver was acknowledged for his current 38+ years of service to the company as well as Robert Gauker for his current 36+ years. Fire Chief Mark George and 1st Assistant Chief Craig Reinhart were both honored for their 20 years each of being in their Chief positions.

We will post a complete list of parade winners within the next few days. Congrats to all who won.

We want to also acknowledge that we missed the presence of our very close brothers and sisters from Leesport, Blandon, & Shoemakersville who were all in Leesport at a residential structure fire. As we were sad that they could not be here, we are just very happy that they all did the job safe and no one was hurt.

Thank You to all who helped judge this event. As there was much to judge and decide, you all did a great job, as well as helped to make our day a very special one.

Thanks to Company 10 & 13 for covering calls as we took the day off to celebrate and enjoy a night for ourselves.

So as the day seemed to be doomed, it ended very amazingly.

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!!
